“On the sands become these lilies”

The historicized proto-hippie Dunites, who lived in the Oceano Dunes in the 1930’s and 40’s, are represented by the installation “On the sands become these lilies”. Each of the 40 slides has text that either describe a different Dunite or includes a quote from letters written from the Dunes by one Dunite to another who was stationed in Europe during WWII.
